The importance of money in modern society is undeniable. Since the time of its

invention people struggle to possess more and more money. Different countries

have their own currency. Besides, the financial system nowadays is rather

developed. There are hundreds of large banks in the world where people can open

saving accounts or get a credit card.

Speaking about the use of money and its dark side, we should review several facts.

Of course, it’s easy to live when you have a large account or good salary. Money

can buy many things, such as personal belongings, different services, comfort and

stability.

However, many people stick to the opinion that money can’t buy happiness. I

suppose they mean that money can’t buy genuine love and a piece of mind. Those

who possess large amounts of money often don’t see the happiness around them.

They can’t get satisfaction from humble things which surround them, for example,

from beauty of nature, the beautiful sunset, etc. To feel happy they need something

more, for example pricey shoes or an expensive piece of jewelry. And here the

dark side of money starts. Sometimes in the pursuit of money people commit

horrible things, for example, betray friends or cheat on banks, which leads to

criminal liability as a result.

Unfortunately, the value of money is on a very high level nowadays, so all people

do is run after them, forgetting about everyday joys.

It is necessary to keep a record of your expenses at all times. From the smallest

purchases to the largest ones.

Many argue that in order to become rich, you have to save strictly. Perhaps, but it

is much better and more effective not to buy unnecessary things. But, with savings

you need to be very careful. Many people, in order to save an extra penny, start

starvation, do not buy the necessary medicine, when there are various ailments, etc.

You should not do this! You can, from a very young age, earn yourself a lot of

diseases, which, in the end, "will cost" hundreds or even thousands of times more.

Saving money is really important for the next reasons:

1 Peace of mind and security

Having a reserve gives you incredible peace of mind and confidence in the future.

You know that whatever happens, you will make it. Statistically, every 10-15 years

there are serious emergencies in a person's life (death of a loved one, illness, loss

of job or ability to work, wedding, birth of a child, etc.) that require a lot of money.

Convincing yourself that nothing will happen to you is unwise and irresponsible to

your family.

The first working experience was memorable because I finally managed to become

independent and earn my first money. When I started working in the corporation, I

changed my mentality to adapt to the new system.

The time-management appeared to be a fundamental problem that I have faced

actual hard skills on their list of priorities when hiring. That’s why adhering to

business etiquette is essential.

Business etiquette is the set of rules and manners that one should follow when

I follow the next rules of etiquette:

1 Always arrive on time

In business, time really is money! Punctuality applies to situations like coming to

the office, attending a meeting, or finishing your tasks.

2 Dress appropriately

Humans are naturally visual beings, so even if people you meet don’t consciously

judge you based on looks, dressing appropriately still creates an impression as

much as your words and actions. Dressing like a professional you aspire to be is

proper etiquette that impacts how credible you look.

3 Pay attention to names

During social interaction, a person’s name is usually the first thing you learn about

someone. Paying attention and memorizing their names shows your sincerity and

how involved you are in the conversation.

Introductions are extremely important for your professional life. They are like your

new business card. The first interaction you have with someone will impact how

others perceive you, and also the relationship you’ll later have with them. Acing

your introduction in office settings will give you a clear advantage.

The very first step is to mention the name.

You should still mention your job title, your company, perhaps even your

department, but also add what you really do –in plain English. It should be short,

so skip the details. A sentence is enough. What’s important is that people

immediately understand what you do and want to work with you.

The last bit of a professional introduction consists of adding other nice facts that

are relevant to the people and the context.

I try not to use my cell phone during business meetings because it is not in

accordance with the rules of etiquette.
